Personal attention, in a space that feels like yours

Finding time for yourself can be difficult when work, family, and a full calendar compete for your attention. In-home personal training makes it easier to put a workout into your day. You get a dedicated coach, a purposeful plan, and the privacy of a familiar setting, without the extra trip to the gym.

I'm Mia Johnson, the trainer behind From The Ashes Fitness. I travel to clients throughout the Denver area for individual, partner, and small-group sessions. Your training is personal: we start with how you move today and build toward the strength, mobility, and confidence you want for daily life.

How mobile personal training works

We begin with a conversation about your goals, schedule, training history, and preferred location. During the complimentary consultation, we'll review your movement and discuss the space and equipment you have available. That gives us a practical starting point for a program you can follow consistently.

  1. Choose your setting. Tell me where you would like to train. That might be at home, in your building's gym where access is permitted, or at an agreed outdoor location.
  2. Build your plan. We'll choose exercises and a session format that suit your experience, priorities, and available space. Share any relevant limitations so we can discuss appropriate modifications.
  3. Train with feedback. I guide your technique, help you find a manageable level of challenge, and adjust the workout as you progress. You can ask questions throughout the session.

You don't need to buy equipment before we talk. We'll discuss what you already have and what would be useful for your goals. Location, equipment arrangements, and scheduling are confirmed together before training begins.

Ask About Training Sessions

Strength, mobility, and functional movement

Strength training develops your ability to lift, carry, and handle everyday tasks. Mobility work focuses on how comfortably and confidently you move through a range of motion. Functional training brings these together through movement patterns such as squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, and carrying.

The balance of these elements depends on your goals. Explore the specialized programs for more about prenatal and postnatal training, senior strength and mobility, and first responder fitness.

Coaching for different stages of life

I work with people across ages, abilities, and training backgrounds. Some clients are beginning a routine for the first time; others want to return to strength training, move more after long hours at a desk, or keep up with an active family. Older adults may want to focus on strength, balance, and everyday independence.

My experience also includes prenatal and postnatal fitness, first responder training, and adapted exercise for people with physical limitations. If you have an injury or medical condition, we'll discuss whether training is appropriate and any clearance or guidance needed from your healthcare provider. Personal training supports your fitness; it does not replace medical care.

A Denver native with a practical approach to strength

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Before becoming a personal trainer, I worked as a firefighter, an experience that shaped my appreciation for useful strength, preparation, and resilience. As a mother of two, I also understand how much planning it takes to make room for your own wellbeing.

I'm certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and bring more than 10 years of training experience to my work. I combine clear instruction with a supportive, personal approach. Learn more about Mia and the From The Ashes philosophy.

Serving clients throughout the Denver area

From The Ashes Fitness is a mobile, service-area business serving Denver, Colorado. I travel to clients instead of asking you to come to a public studio. When you get in touch, include your neighborhood or general location and preferred days and times so we can confirm travel availability and a suitable place to train.

If you're elsewhere in the Denver area, ask about your location. We'll discuss travel availability alongside your preferred schedule before arranging a session.

Why train at home?

You can spend the time you would have used commuting on the workout itself. A familiar environment can also make it easier to ask questions, practice something new, and focus on your own progress. For partners and busy households, training at home offers a shared routine built around the way you actually live.

What happens in your complimentary consultation

Plan for about 45–60 minutes to talk through your goals, exercise history, and any relevant health considerations. We'll include a basic movement assessment and discuss your schedule, preferred training setting, and the kind of support you want.

Wear comfortable clothes, have water nearby, and bring your questions. The consultation helps us decide on a sensible starting point and discuss what working together could look like. You do not need to arrive with a finished plan or be in shape already.

Questions about in-home training

Do I need a home gym?

No dedicated home gym is required to start the conversation. Tell me about your available space and any equipment you own. We'll work out what is appropriate for your program before your first session.

Can my partner and I train together at different fitness levels?

Yes. Partner training includes individualized guidance, so exercises can be adapted to each person's experience and goals. We'll discuss both of your needs during the consultation.

Is personal training suitable if I'm just starting out?

Absolutely. We begin with your current experience and movement, then build a routine you understand and can practice confidently. You don't need to reach a fitness milestone before working with a trainer.

Do you travel to my part of Denver?

I provide mobile training throughout the Denver area. Include your neighborhood or general location when you inquire, and we'll confirm availability for your location and schedule together.

How often should I schedule sessions?

We'll discuss a frequency that suits your goals, schedule, and current activity. There is no single schedule for everyone, and your plan can be reviewed as your needs change.

What if I have an injury or health condition?

Share this during the consultation so we can discuss appropriate modifications and any guidance needed from your healthcare provider. Programs for medical conditions require provider clearance and coordination with your medical team.
